What is a Virus?
A virus is a code embedded in documents or executable files
that have extensions such as .exe, .com, and .shs. This code
infects computers and systems causing harm by slowly eating
away at infected documents and spreads to other files or
replicates to other computers and systems (via email) when
an infected attachment is opened. The primary causes of
viruses are people who intentionally and maliciously start a
virus. The virus is then unintentionally and often
unknowingly spread. This happens by sharing infected files
through email, saving infected files on disks and sharing
them with others, or saving infected files on
organizational file server.
